Cowee family! The preteen years can bring about many changes and different opportunities for growth. At Cowee we believe there is a MileStone for us to embrace as a family with our preteens. The sex talk! But it is more than just the “Sex Talk,” it is an opportunity to build trust, minister to your child’s heart, make memories, and more! The target grade is GRADE 6 due to the fact that students will have Health Class and Sex-Ed. It has been stated that when a parent/guardian is the first to introduce their student(s) to topics like “Sex” they gain a deeper level of the parent’s trust and competency in that or those areas and are more likely to return to that parent with questions concerning those matters. FamilyLife has developed an amazing resource that addresses these areas for you and has so much more for you and your child!
Your child begins the journey into adolescence in a world of sexting, bullying, online stalking and moral defiance. Innocence is under attack, and you cannot win the battle with a single awkward talk or a strict set of rules. The primary defense for your child is a strong relationship with you and with God.
WHAT IS PASSPORT 2 PURITY?
Passport 2 Purity is a Christian CD series put out by Family Life. The talks on the CDs introduce the concepts of peer pressure, puberty, sex and how that relates to our relationship with God and each other. The Passport 2 Purity series is intended for use during a weekend getaway with your child. It has a program track for both a mother and daughter or a father and son trip. It is suggested that the materials be completed over a weekend away from home, as the child may be more open to discussing the topics away from his or her normal environment. If this isn’t possible, the material can be completed over a period of four or five weeks.
FamilyLife has developed Passport2Purity® to assist you in building heart-to-heart communication with your preteen while laying a foundation of purity that will prepare them for the turbulent years ahead. Through the shared listening experience, object lessons and guided conversations of a Passport2Purity weekend getaway, you can set your son or daughter on a journey of moral integrity—and strengthen the bond between you.
