FORCE FOR GOOD
One of our passions is to see our people be a force for good in our community. With that said - if you feel led to go, don't feel like you need to wait on something to be organized to jump into. If there is a day you can go and you are willing to help coordinate a group, let us know and we will continue to let others know. Teams have been forming and doing great work in this model.
WNC
Gary Holland is organizing a Baptist on Mission site in Burnsville. We have taken a load there and are helping with assessments in that community. To help serve, a person can sign up at the link below or we are in close contact with Gary. It is probably going to be a few more days before they will be ready for any more teams at this site.
Ben Nahlen has been heading up some teams with Samaritans Purse.
We are trying to help make connections for any teams wanting to serve. Email the office - office@cowee.church and we will do our best to connect you in the right place.
Baptist On Missions
We have a team with Baptists on Mission in Arden. They are in need of volunteers to help cook as well as help with sanitation. We will have a team headed out Saturday, October 5th. If you are interested in going with this team, please email Office@Cowee.Church. We are updating this page with more opportunities as we hear of them.
A little info on Baptist on Missions
Baptists on Mission is responding in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in the mountains of western North Carolina. Weโve set up large feeding units in Boone, Marion and in Arden. In addition, weโre setting up recovery sites in Boone, Spruce Pine, Hendersonville, Marion and a number of other areas.
Volunteers are helping in feeding; shower and laundry; chain saw teams; tarping roofs; mudding and tearing out homes; and more. You donโt need to be trained to serve with some of these opportunities. Please know that we will have many opportunities to serve for many week, months and years to come. Your team may very well be more needed a week or two or a month or two from now than they are right now.
