FORCE FOR GOOD
One of our passions is to see our people be a force for good in our community. With that said - if you feel led to go, don't feel like you need to wait on something to be organized to jump into. If there is a day you can go and you are willing to help coordinate a group, let us know and we will continue to let others know. Teams have been forming and doing great work in this model.
WNC
There is a group that will meet at the church at 6:15am and leave for Burnsville by 6:30am this Saturday, November 2nd. No equipment is needed as we’ll be working on mucking out and tearing down houses. Plan to return fairly late, so wear good shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Lunch will be provided!
Children 16 years and older are welcome to attend with a parent.
Contact Drew Baldwin to attend: (828) 371-8018
We are trying to help make connections for any teams wanting to serve. We will update our Events Page and this page with upcoming opportunities to serve. If you would like to lead a team please contact Pastor Chris at chris@cowee.church
Baptists On Mission
Baptists on Mission is responding in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in the mountains of western North Carolina. We’ve set up large feeding units in Boone, Marion and in Arden. In addition, we’re setting up recovery sites in Boone, Spruce Pine, Hendersonville, Marion and a number of other areas.
Volunteers are helping in feeding; shower and laundry; chain saw teams; tarping roofs; mudding and tearing out homes; and more. You don’t need to be trained to serve with some of these opportunities. Please know that we will have many opportunities to serve for many week, months and years to come. Your team may very well be more needed a week or two or a month or two from now than they are right now.
